Te hacen una dejada y ni arrancas, esto en el argot se llama: ni la hueles, cuando la haces tú y te llegan, siempre te vas para el otro lado, sigues sin olerla, lo mismo te pasa en los “smashes” y voleas fáciles, ni las hueles, siempre al equivocado, te crees que va «passing» y va el globo, ni la hueles, estas en la red y siempre cubres el lado contrario, otro “passing” más, ni los hueles, ¿PARA QUE SUBOOOO?, se oye por el club, te crees que seguirá cruzado y te sorprende de paralelo, ni la hueles, te crees que va paralela y te tira cruzado, ni la hueles, te llevan sacando 15 veces abierto a la derecha en este set y sigues sin olerla cuando era obvio que iba ahí, te la dejan corta y llegas tarde, te tiran largo y te la comes, siempre te hace la misma, tú mismo lo dices gritando en la pista justificándote hacia quien tu creas que te tienes que justificar, ¡OTRA VEZ LA MISMA, ¿SI YA SABES QUE VA AHÍ?, no, no te equivoques, no lo sabes, sigues sin olerla, y seguirás sin olerla, tu descoordinación con el juego y con el rival es alarmante, tu desconocimiento del juego, del rival y de ti mismo está presente en cada golpe, eso en el Tennis se llama no saber leer, y no saber leer provoca que ni las huelas, y si no sabes leer no puedes ser competitivo a un cierto nivel.
¿Crees que Rafa llega a las trompadas de Federer porque es rápido?
Seguro que sí, pero el cuadro no es tan abstracto.
Los de arriba llegan a todas, a parte de ser rapidisimos, por qué:
- Leen la tendencia del juego, es decir hacia donde se dirige el juego para su lógico desarrollo según circunstancias.
- Leen leen sus diferentes situaciones y la forma de jugarlas.
- Leen leen al rival.
- Leen leen el posible futuro golpe del rival.
- Leen leen a mínimo dos golpes vista tanto suyos como del contrario.
- Leen el rival en su conjunto creando patrones de comportamiento en todos los planos (táctico, técnico, físico y mental).
- Leen leen las condiciones de juego.
- Se leen a sí mismos.
¿Y para qué sirve leer?
Por un lado para entender como jugar en ese momento, SOLO POR ESO YA ES IMPRESCINDIBLE, y por otro para ser más rápido e ir por delante del rival un golpe.
Toda esta lectura proporciona una información que al procesarla crea una predisposición mental para reaccionar en menos tiempo y cubrir el 60 – 80% del juego de una forma rápida y con posibilidad más alta de dominar dejando el otro 20 – 40% del juego, el más dificultoso del rival, con menos predisposición a la reacción y con más posibilidades de ser dominado si se le ocurre tirar por ahí, aunque en el caso de que el juego se dirija hacia esa área, ganaras siempre en porcentaje, si hueles claro, ya que este área siempre debe lo más pequeña posible y la más difícil de jugar por parte del rival.
A diferencia del plano físico en el cual se está más predispuesto al movimiento en un 60 – 80% del juego y en el restante 20 – 40% se tiene menor poder de reacción, en el plano mental prácticamente el 100% de las posibles decisiones mentales ya están leídas y dispuestas en la casilla de salida para ejecutar, una u otra, a la orden del jugador según su conveniencia y decisión, y esto es así porque todas las variables del juego ya se han sopesado antes de que el contrario golpee, cuando tu bola vuela después de golpear, ya ha de estar todo leído, en las dos áreas las decisiones están preparadas cuando la pelota bota en el campo contrario y listas para ejecutar, cuando el contrario golpea, según a la conveniencia del jugador, estos son los tiempos en el procesamiento de información.
Solo un área tiene los dos planos predispuestos, en la otra solo existe en el mental.
Podría existir un 1-5% del juego en el cual rozamos el golpe inesperado para todos, (en el caso de McEnroe roza el 40%), ese golpe que rompe toda lógica en el juego, en ese momento la predisposición es muy pequeña o nula en ambos planos con la perdida de casi la totalidad de ellos a no ser que seas Rafa que es el único que se las sacas todas.
¿Y que se lee?
Lo que hay que leer esta delante de ti y dentro de ti, delante tienes al rival al que siempre has de estar mirando, estudiándolo y analizándolo, ¿qué patrón tiene?, sus habilidades técnicas y que le permiten hacer y que no, su lado fuerte y su debilidad, lo que le gusta hacer, como y cuando le gusta hacerlo, lo que no le gusta hacer, como y cuando no le gusta hacerlo, que clase de golpes le gusta hacer en situaciones concretas, sus secuencias tácticas, su cabeza, cuando está bien o mal, cuando se va a poner mal o cuando se va aponer bien, como se mueve, hacia donde se mueve mal o bien, lee todos sus tics en el cuerpo, sus tics darán muchas pistas de hacia done va el golpe del rival, uno de ellos te delata la dejada, si lo detectas y lees bien ese tic, empezaras a olerlas, si lees sabrás donde va el 60 – 80% del juego y estarás cubierto en el restante.
Delante de ti tienes el juego, ahora puedo, ahora no, me adelanto, me atraso, más a la derecha, más a la izquierda, ahora aguanto, ahora tiro, ¿como le gano puntos?, ¿como soluciono los que pierdo?, que secuencias tácticas me funcionan, que me cubro, que descubro, en fin, el juego, poco leerás si te pones en la línea pegando desconectado del juego pero fijándote en la técnica, no estas prestando atención al juego, y eso te hará no conocer el juego, es imperativo conocer el juego, si no difícil lo tienes, olvídate de que le problema de que no ser solido es que no le pegas delante, trabaja a todos los niveles simultáneamente.
Delante de ti tienes las condiciones de juego en ese momento y sus posibles cambios, lee, viento, superficie, reacción de la bola al botar el tal superficie y sus variaciones dentro de la pista, es decir, en un lado puede botar algo más rápido que en otro, la tensión de la red por si toca “beta”, una tensa dispara la bola, una floja la deja muerta, el desgaste de las bolas y en que afecta, el sol, ¿dónde está?, como me afecta, como soluciono, todos estos condicionantes y alguno que me dejo condiciona el juego, no vale decir que ahí bota mal, si no sabes ya que ahí bota mal es una prueba más de que no lees, no es un problema del pistero, es tu problema y el poco poder de captación de información, procesamiento, atención…
Dentro de ti estas tú, has de leerte a ti mismo, haz tuyo el golpe, debe ser una extensión de tu pensamiento, no implantado, has de dominarlo, hacerlo adaptable y versátil, saber cuáles son tus mejores golpes o peores y cuando usarlos y cuando no, saber cuándo estas mejor o peor mentalmente y solucionarlo, cuando tienes dudas o estas más decidido, saber cómo reacciona tu físico en tales circunstancias, has de conocerte a la perfección, igual que conoces tu móvil, no conocerte es ir ciego a un enfrentamiento cuerpo a cuerpo, y al final un partido de Tennis no es más que una confrontación cuerpo a cuerpo, interactuando con raqueta y pelota en vez de con patadas y punches, y yendo ciego al cuerpo a cuerpo, o eres “Riddick” o caja seguro.
Has de leer todo, absolutamente todo lo que pasa en la pista, hasta esa sombra que va abrazando la pista y te hace ver peor la bola, has de leer su progresión, todo, reitero absolutamente todo, tu misión no es golpear, es leer, golpear es un instrumento para interactuar según la lectura, golpear no es el fin, es el medio, leer tampoco es el fin, solamente es una recopilación de información, el fin es decidir correctamente lo que va a pasar los próximos 5 segundos del partido, y en el segundo 2 de estos 5 ya estas leyendo para analizar el próximo “gap” de 5 segundos, las diferentes lecturas han de ir superpuesta por capas.
¿Cómo se lee?
Para leer has de tener una mente muy clara, libre de virus y focalizada de una forma natural en tu trabajo, natural significa que no es un esfuerzo para ti, puedes estar 24/7, es tu estado natural, una mente alerta a cualquier información que le pueda ser útil, necesitas estar alerta ya sea plenamente en el presente o en segundo plano, es decir, siempre alerta aunque sea se reojo a la información, como las gacelas que pastan tranquilamente pero con el ojo puesto en el león debajo del árbol por si se levanta con hambre, alerta es la clave, mirando como juega aquel, como le pega el otro, siempre alerta en tu profesión, ponte en modo alerta y no tendrás tiempo para chorradas, un competidor lee, un competidor busca cualquier información que le de ventaja para afrontar competición.
Para procesar la información has de tener una mente que funcione con algo de lógica y que sepa patronizar situaciones similares, almacenarlas en el disco duro, patronizarlas y crear protocolos de actuacion a cada una de ellas, has de saber crear patrones de comportamiento en las secuencias tácticas, has de patronizar todos los diferentes tics técnicos que el contrario tiene, cuando todo lo tengas patronizado, almacenado y protocolarizado, leerás rapidísimo, leerás como va y a dónde va el 60 – 80% del juego casi instantáneamente, de esta forma se prevé las situaciones, si ya ha pasado estas más preparado porque lo sabes, sabes que va a pasar y puedes decidir las respuestas de antemano en tu cabeza, es más las respuestas ya están decididas solo has de elegir cual usar.
Si no hay lectura, no hay predisposición y el tiempo de reacción es mayor, donde esperas reaccionas más rápido, sin esta lectura se juega a bola mirada, pego, paro, veo el golpe del otro, corro y normalmente se llega tarde y se ejecuta mal el golpe por ir un segundo retrasado y por mala elección de este.
Si no hay lectura no entenderás como jugar en ese partido y no sabrás jugar los puntos, entender como jugar facilita enormemente la toma de decisiones ya que se hacen de una forma casi automatizada.
La falta de lectura es uno de los mayores problemas en los jugadores actualmente, mucha velocidad y fuerza, pero no leen la curva y ni mucho menos a que velocidad cogerla según el coche y quien conduzca, con lo cual la ostia que te pegas es monumental.
Hoy en día se juega a bola mirada, sin lectura, sin interactuación con el rival, se busca una excelencia técnica olvidándose del juego y del rival, es decir, se trata al Tennis como al golf, solo juego yo, o al menos en un porcentaje muy alto en comparación con la atención dedicada a las dinámicas del juego y sus interactuaciones, y en este juego nada es absoluto o se da por hecho, o solo lo hago yo, todo es relativo a algo y está relacionado con algo a la hora de decidir.
Pero ahí no acaba tu formación, solo has empezado, cuando aprendas el arte de leer, estarás preparado para aprender el arte del engaño, al cual solo llegan los grandes lectores, y solo unos elegidos llegan a ser tan sabios en tales artes que ganan el premio nobel, alguno de ellos tiene 12 nobeles, los demás siguimos sin olerla en menor o mayor medida.
